Event Details

BOAT AMERICA is the recreational boating safety course, presented by the U.S. CoastGuard Auxiliary, and taught by Certified Instructors. During the 8-hour course, you will become familiar with boat handling, navigation rules, common problems, and safe boating practices. Upon completion of the course and passing the multiple choice questions, you will receive a Boat America Certificate and a laminated, wallet-sized, Boat America Card. This course satisfies the requirements for Federal and New York State Parks and Recreation for personal watercraft (Jet Ski) and recreational boating operators. Participants must be at least 10 years old to attend this class. Registration requires a $50 fee, which includes the BOAT AMERICA Study Guide that will be mailed to you before the class.

Children under the age of 11 will not be permitted to stay at the library alone.  If a parent is not taking the class with his/her child, he or she must remain in the library while their child is in class.
