One World: 24 Hours on Planet Earth
Take a magical ride around the globe to see the wonders of a single moment in a story illuminating our precious and fragile natural world.
Our planet is always turning. It may be midnight in London, but in different time zones other living things are waking up, ready to hunt or feed or fight. As the clock strikes twelve, two sisters are spirited away on a journey to glimpse, in the span of a moment, extraordinary biodiversity: a mother polar bear and her cubs hunting seals in Svalbard, tiny turtles in India following the moon toward the sea, and enormous whale sharks gulping plankton in the Philippines. Quietly profound, this glowing tribute to the natural world—and reminder of its fragility—blends accessible science, lyricism, sweeping artwork, and a call for climate awareness into an ideal companion book for Earth Day, or any wondrous day on Earth. -
What to Do with a Stick
original artworkIn this last installment of Jane Yolen's trio of books about ordinary objects with extraordinary uses, the humble stick is lauded as "a sword to tame monsters of dread" and "an oar for a rowboat in puddle or pond," among other imaginative functions. As with most things, though, it fulfills its truest purpose when combined with others: what can be made with a stick, a box, and a string? "Music that goes with ... everything!"

“Spine-chilling and creepy!” —Max Brallier, #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Last Kids on Earth
In a mansion on a hill,
lived a man no one could kill.
Raised the dead with magic dark
to rule the world and make his mark.
Zari has always been fascinated by creepy stories about Hezekiah Crawly, the real-life inspiration behind her local amusement park's haunted house attraction, so she's thrilled when her friends Mateo and Taylor agree to go on the last ride of the day before the park closes.
But when the ride breaks down, the three get trapped inside the haunted house for the night! As if that weren't scary enough, the kids stumble onto a hidden staircase leading to a dark, cobwebbed crypt that doesn't seem like part of the ride—and by the looks of it, they aren't alone down there. Is it possible the stories about Hezekiah Crawly and his monstrous experiments are true? And if so, can Zari, Mateo and Taylor make it through the night in one piece? -
Wishing Season
A moving middle grade story by Anica Mrose Rissi that will appeal to readers who loved The Thing about Jellyfish and Hello, Universe, about the enduring bond between twins: Anders, who has recently died, and Lily, who has to balance her grief and confusion with a brother who isn't quite gone--and how to navigate a world that is moving forward without him.
Of course Anders wasn't lonely in the afterlife. He still, like always, had Lily.
Lily doesn't believe in making wishes. Not anymore. Not since Anders died.
Wishes can't fix the terrible thing that happened. Wishing won't change how it feels.
But Lily does believe in the impossible. She has a secret so extraordinary, so magical, no one would believe that it's true.
No one except Anders, of course.
Nothing about this summer is turning out how Lily would have wished. But wishes, like seasons, can change.

Wallflowers
People call you a wallflower.
Sometimes they call you shy. Sometimes they call you quiet, or maybe even scared. People think these are bad things, because sometimes they are LOUD.
But you are happy just the way you are. And maybe you don't need to learn to be loud, they just need to learn to listen.
Mackenzie Joy beautifully pairs her gorgeous illustrations with minimalist text in this heartwarming book that doesn't just acknowledge shy children, but celebrates them--because every wallflower deserves their chance to grow.

The Greedy Worm
From celebrated illustrator Jeff Newman comes a delightfully funny wordless picture book about a very greedy worm, a very large apple, and the importance of sharing with friends.
The greedy worm has his eye on a very big apple and he does NOT want to share with any of the other hungry bugs. In fact he eats the whole thing himself in one giant chomp to keep them away. But when a bird starts eyeing the now plump (and sluggish) greedy worm, he’ll need those bugs he snubbed to keep the feaster from becoming the feast. And he might just learn a thing or two about sharing in the process…
