Event Details

Dialogues des Carmelites is a dramatization of the events surrounding the Martyrs of Compiegne, who remained faithful unto death during France’s Reign of Terror. The work delves into the theme of virtue in a world seemingly rife with corruption. Francis Poulenc’s devastating masterpiece will stun you with its beauty.  Mezzo-soprano Isabel Leonard is the fearful Blanche de la Force. The exceptional cast also features sopranos Erin Morley and Adrianne Pieczonka and mezzo-soprano Karen Cargill as some of Blanche’s fellow sisters, with tenor David Portillo as the protective Chevalier de la Force. Madame de Croissy is sung by the incomparable Karita Mattila. (3 hours)
