Have I mentioned how I love this time of year! One of the best things about the fall, besides the weather and the colors that explode all around us, is the abundance of books that come out. I am always amazed at the genre, variety and all the authors who have books coming out this time of year.
Looking at the new book list, I see Mike Lupica has taken over Robert B. Parker's Spenser series. Little back info: At the family’s request, Ace Atkins took over writing Robert B. Parker’s Spenser series after Parker died in 2010. It’s not easy taking over for such an iconic author, I liked Mr. Atkins and how he stayed true to Spenser. Mr. Atkins wrote ten Spenser books between 2012-2022. Check out Ace Atkins other series, one with
Mississippi Sheriff Quinn Colson, the other is Nash Bridges. If you’re looking for a new author, give Mr. Atkins a try, I highly recommend them. Mike Lupica takes over the Spenser books now, I’m looking forward to seeing how he does.
Michael Connelly brings back his Lincoln Lawyer with Resurrection Walk. I've been a fan of Mickey Haller since he was first introduced, I'm glad to see him back.
I'm glad to see Michael Cunningham back with a new book. His book Day is one I'm looking forward to reading.
If you've been reading Charles Cumming BOX 88 series, here is the third book, Kennedy 35. While I haven't read this series, I did like his book A Spy By Nature.
Need a new author? There are several on the November list to choose from.
One of my favorite websites to go to check out upcoming spy, mystery, espionage novels, is The Real Book Spy. Ryan Steck is the Book Spy and his site is fantastic. He gives reviews, interviews authors, writes his own spy novels… if this is your favorite genre, check him out: therealbookspy.com. Right now he's previewing thrillers for 2024.
FYI: When possible I order the large print copy of upcoming books as soon as I can. Unfortunately not all large print comes out when the regular print. Sometimes it takes a lot longer than I like, so I understand folks' disappointment.
