Event Details
During World War II, women secret agents of the British Special Operations Executive (SOE) infiltrated Nazi-occupied France and worked with the French Resistance in disrupting and destroying vital enemy operations in the lead-up to the Allied invasion of the continent. This presentation focuses on the integral role these courageous women played in Winston Churchill’s “Shadow War.” In carrying out their subversive and exceedingly dangerous missions, they crossed many borders, geographic, cultural and gender. The program also deals with the sacrifices and contributions the women and their French colleagues made to hastening the end of the war. Program includes film clips.
