Event Details

The Battle of Midway (June 3–6, 1942) was fought almost entirely with aircraft. Japanese pilots had the most combat experience and they flew the ZERO, the best carrier borne fighter plane. They also flew the KATE, one of the best carrier bombers. Their Type 91 Torpedo was far superior to anything the U.S. had. Japan had the best submarines in the world as well as the biggest battleship ever built. The total number of ships for their Midway operation dwarfed the U.S. Navy's. Then why did the Japanese lose the Battle of Midway? Come join us and find out. This engaging presentation will show how American intelligence and true grit shifted naval power in the Pacific.
