"Quiet Places"
Paintings by Diane Alec Smith

Diane Alec Smith has lived and worked in Cutchogue, New York her entire life. Diane's studio, where she creates most of her artwork and teaches classes to art students of all ages, is located on the same private farmland in Cutchogue on which she grew up. Diane has been painting for over 40 years, primarily with acrylics, and teaching for over 35 years. Her art reflects the natural beauty of the east end of Long Island, where stunning vistas have provided a lifetime of inspiration.

The "Quiet Places" exhibited in this show are representations of creeks, inlets and wetlands of the North Fork; early morning, sunset and moonlit scenes reflecting the tranquil beauty of nature found throughout the east end of Long Island.

Empress and Lotus – Linda Plotkin
On Display in September
Paintings by Linda Plotkin

“I call this exhibition of my work a ‘mini-retrospective’ as it contains images from several series created over the last 20 years, starting with landscapes from Pennsylvania, where I taught at Penn State, followed by still lifes using objects from my home. It continues with imagery based upon the ocean, aspects of music, inspired by my husband, who is a composer, and includes collages using Chinese ceremonial papers.”

Linda lives in Greenport and Manhattan. She received her BA from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee, and her MFA from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. Her prints are included in the permanent collections of many public and private collections, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, MoMA, and the Brooklyn Museum of Art. A more complete survey of this work can be seen on her website:

"Happy Holiday Gifts from the North Fork"
Paintings by Jo-Ann Corretti

Jo-Ann Corretti, Mattituck Artist, is exhibiting her Special Holiday gifts and cards. She has been painting the North Fork for 35 years and her many collectors treasure her work. “I love painting commissions such as Home and Garden Portraits, and they make greatly appreciated gifts. I paint every detail. My portraits of local B&Bs included their pots of flowers, wicker chairs, American flags, and all the decorative moldings; details that make the paintings so personal. I LOVE being an Artist ...”

"Work lovingly done is the secret of all order and all happiness."
~ Pierre-Auguste Renoir
